Discover the significant contributions of ACWS and our member shelters towards research and advocacy on gender-based violence.

Through collaboration with member shelters, government bodies, and community change partners, ACWS champions systemic change by raising awareness, influencing public policy, and promoting gender equity. By amplifying the voices of survivors and the shelters that support them, ACWS works to create a society where all individuals can live free from violence and abuse. 

ACWS also works alongside member shelters and people with lived experience of violence and abuse to design and implement culture-shifting research programs. Such programs seek to understand and end gender-based violence, and to support and advocate for survivors and the service providers who support them.
