For over 55 years, WIN House has provided shelter and support to those fleeing gender-based violence in Edmonton.
Across our three shelters, we foster safety, stability, and resilience through responsive programming and innovative funding models. Our low-barrier approach ensures we meet both immediate and complex needs, including those related to poverty, housing and food insecurity, and addiction.
Guided by our commitment to a life free from violence, we work collaboratively with community partners and contribute to a more connected, unified response to gender-based violence.
Access support anytime through our 24/7 helpline. Trained professionals are available to help, whether you need a safe place to stay, connections to resources, or simply someone to listen.

Our Crisis Intervention Workers (CIW) are on-site 24/7, providing immediate and ongoing support to residents throughout their stay. Through one-on-one case management, they help individuals set goals, develop safety plans, and access referrals and advocacy, supporting safe and sustainable transitions beyond shelter.
The Trauma-Informed Family Support Worker (TIFSW) program supports children and families staying in shelter by providing safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate programming that helps them cope with the impacts of violence and disruption. Through activities like child-focused groups, parenting support, and connections to education and community resources, TIFSW helps families build stability, strengthen relationships, and move toward safe, sustainable futures.
As animals are not permitted in shelter, pet care arrangements must be made prior to admission. Our team can support individuals in exploring available options, though capacity is limited and availability cannot be guaranteed.
Our Justice Navigator supports individuals both in shelter and after departure by helping them understand their legal rights and navigate systems such as police, courts, and legal services. They provide ongoing guidance, advocacy, and connections to resources, so individuals feel informed, supported, and confident in making decisions about their safety and next steps.
