Executive Support

The Executive Support provides advanced administrative and executive support to the Executive Director and the functions of the executive office, including but not limited to clerical support to the ACWS board, board committees and the business meeting portion of the AGM. This position requires a high degree of professionalism and must exercise initiative and judgment in handling routine, non-routine and confidential material and special project assignments.

Member Support – Programs and Services

Reporting to the Manager of Programs and Services, this position is responsible for mentoring and supporting trauma informed shelter services and programs, fostering shelter partnerships, and developing training.

This position will ensure the alignment of ACWS programs, services, and projects to ensure the overarching outcomes and sustainability of ACWS and our members.

Manager of Programs and Services

The main purpose of the Manager of Programs and Services is to transform practice to drive social change, whether collaborating with members, external partners or ACWS staff. This requires being responsive to member-identified needs and emerging trends and challenges.

This will be done through two major areas:

  • Offering training and education to integrate the latest research and theory with the on-the-ground experiences of shelter staff and other front-line service providers.
  • To mentor and support trauma, violence, and intersectional practice with a gendered lens to inform shelter programs, services, and partnerships.

This position will ensure the alignment of ACWS programs and projects towards the overarching outcomes and sustainability of ACWS and our members.

Special Advisor – Shelter Programs and Services

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Advisor to mentor staff and support trauma and violence informed shelter services and shelter partnerships. The ideal candidate will be someone committed to guiding shelter programs in implementing best practices that foster healing, safety, and empowerment for individuals seeking services and enhancing the overall wellness of frontline staff engaged in service delivery This key position will play a pivotal role in enhancing trauma and violence informed practice at our shelters and across our partnerships.

This position requires someone with deep knowledge of trauma-informed therapeutic interventions and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and compassionate environment.
