2026 Workforce Survey

Thank you for your interest in ACWS’ 2026 Workforce Survey! Your answers to this survey will help ACWS better understand the needs of staff working in domestic violence and elder abuse shelters, and how we can meet those needs. ACWS will also use your answers to build a public report to increase awareness about the importance and challenges of the work that domestic violence and elder abuse shelters do.

This year’s survey has a special focus on work experience and preparation, knowledge and skills, service provider wellness, and cost of living and economic security.

The survey should take you approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. We recommend that you complete this survey in a quiet, comfortable and private space and that you use a private mobile phone or computer that you do not share with other people to complete it. Please note that you cannot save your progress in the survey and come back to it later. If you cannot finish the survey at one time, you can leave the survey open in your browser so you can continue working on it at a later time. However, if you are using a public or shared device to take this survey, we recommend that you finish and submit the survey all at once.

Informed Consent

This survey will ask you a number of questions about your perspectives, knowledge, skills, and experiences. There is no way for anyone to identify you based on your answers to these questions. Your answers are completely anonymous. ACWS will hold your answers in the strictest confidence, and only the ACWS researchers will be able to see them. We will not share your answers with your employer. You can choose not to answer any of the questions by either selecting “Prefer not to answer” for the multiple-choice questions, or by typing “Prefer not to answer” for the open text questions.
