Ruth’s House
Emergency Shelter in
Calgary
Ruth’s House is a community home away from home for women and children who are experiencing family violence and require a safe haven in the community. The organization serves Afrocentric and African-descendant communities, providing culturally grounded and responsive support. As a low-security transitional home, the facility allows residents to care for themselves and to come and go as they please, while providing access to resources that support healing, stability, and long-term well-being. Please note that pets are not permitted in the shelter.
