ACWS Children's Curriculum - Lloydminster

This training will introduce every-day tools and a practical framework informed by the neuroscience of trauma to help attendees create, build and improve programming for children exposed to family violence.
Over two days you will learn to use this evidence-informed framework and practical tools for building and enhancing your organizations programming for children exposed to domestic and family violence. 
You'll get:
  1. Grounding in the neuroscience of trauma and healing with the new ACWS Children's Curriculum modules covering:
    1. ​Early Brain Development;
    2. Toxic Stress and Adverse Childhood Experiences;
    3. Brain Plasticity, Resilience and Hope.
  2. A deeper understanding of the traumatic effects of domestic and family violence on children.
  3. Practical trauma-recovery-supportive tools and practices that easily integrate into everyday interactions with children.
  4. Workable ways to use and adapt these learnings for your context.
  5. A network of passionate child-serving professionals in shelter and community agencies to explore how collaboration can enhance continuity of care.
  6. A place to share your expertise and experience.
Who Should Attend?
  • Experienced childcareres and other child-serving professionals looking to share their strategies, deepen their theoretical knowledge and expand their skill set.
  • New childcareres and other child-serving professionals looking for a solid foundation in the nueroscince of trauma, excited to learn from their peers and knowledge
  • This training is also open to all Community Partners for a $250. (daycare providers, Child & Family Service workers, teachers and early childhood educators, etc) 
  • This training is open to all ACWS member and accosiate member staff and volunteers at no cost.
